konkrétně tedy sóji vzhledem k tomu že dospělá kukuřice má dva metry a sója od 50 do 120cm max a tak jsou pro ní plevely větším ohrožením.

a vzhledem k tomu že se roundup používá už nějakejch 40 let tak imunita u plevele není žádné překvapení.

The olive tree is one of Italy’s two national trees. Images are easily evoked of olive-oil infused cuisine, and rolling acres of sun-drenched orchards, striped with row after row of often century-old olive trees.

Now, in Southern Italy at least, at least one million of those iconic olive trees are dying. While scientists have worked on determining a cause, certain anti-GMO groups have pointed to genetic modification experiments and the Italian government has been investigating the scientists themselves as culprits.

Ironically, anti-GMO activists may have eliminated one promising solution to the Xylella outbreak just a year before it was discovered. Since 1982, scientists had been working on various ways to genetically engineer resistance to fungal and bacterial infections in olive trees, including growing test trees in Italy. In 2012, the Italian government ordered these new strains of trees destroyed, to comply with a law banning field research on genetically engineered plants.

ale tohle mi příjde přehnaný.. je fakt že velká část druhů semen který se prodávají jsou hybridní (například kukuřice, brukvovité, lilkovité..), a je nutné je kupovat každý rok, ale ikdyž se to hodí do krámu těhdle firem, tak jiné řešení není díky aktivistům průchozí (..GMO)
u hybridů bude skoro vždy potřeba kupovat semena, z podstaty hybridl se totiž výhodné vlastnosti nepřenesou na potomstvo, obvykle kvůli rozdílným množstvím chromosomů.

předpokládám že si tu 'skvělou' novou brokolici patentovali, ikdyž není transgenní, patentem bude chráněná 20 let, poté můžeš začít vyrábět stejný semínka a prodávat je pod jinym názvem (jména si taky všichni chráněj)

tohle by samozřejmě vůbec nebylo nutné kdyby se ty změny v genetice změnily přímo v kytce, ale díky aktivistům to nejde.

The IARC classifies compounds on a scale of decreasing certainty: group 1 is for agents that are definitely carcinogenic to humans; 2A, probably carcinogenic to humans; 2B, possibly carcinogenic to humans; 3, not classifiable; and 4, probably not carcinogenic to humans.

Monsanto said in its statement, “IARC has classified numerous everyday items in Category 2 including coffee, cell phones, aloe vera extract and pickled vegetables, as well as professions such as a barber and fry cook.”

But the IARC classified most of these items at the less dangerous 2B level, whereas glyphosate is in the 'probably carcinogenic' 2A category. Of Monsanto's list, only emissions from high-temperature frying and the occupational exposure experienced as a barber are rated as 2A.
