Teď je Šanghaj.

When people say 2:00 isn't possible right now they mean with current rules and conditions.

If the rules of the game are changed then 2:00 becomes possible much sooner.

I had asked people what they thought Kipchoge could run right now say in Berlin on a perfect day? He ran 2:03:05 in London. I said what if he's a 2:02 marathoner?
This guy is right on:

That was fun and exciting. Ill be vefy interested in Kipchoge's next marathon. Wonder how all this training translates.Think he would have ran 2:02:05 in Berlin if it were held today.
Then give him nearly perfect pacing and much better drafting (Running behind that car) and what do you get? Looks like that takes another minute or minute and a half off, and then there is the question of the shoes.

I don't think a lot of people would be surprised by something in the 2:01s.

I thought he would die harder when he fell off the pace. But the more I think about it is JK's prediction of 20 miles is he could handle 20 miles on a normal course/conditions. He's better than everyone else and had the slipstream plus everything else.

Which of the other things do you think helped the most?
From what I saw they were never really "behind the car. The pacers were well off the car for most of the way, at 2-3 car length or more.

The phalanx of pacing was definitely worth something, I imagine it marginally optimizes the effect of drafting for the first 13 miles (considering runners usually get drafting to around halfway), and then there was a significant advantage, the full 2% probably, from halfway to 30k. After 30k Eluid was on and off the pacers some. Perhaps 15s or so for bottles.

So i'd say maybe 1-1.5% for drafting and .2% or so for bottles. So call it 1.25%? Making this worth about 2:01:50 on a "regular" course.

That leaves only the question of what kind of a day Kipchoge was on. If today was a B+ day, then low 2:01 might be possible. If Kipchoge was at his absolute best, then we are likely at a place where 2:02:00 Berlin is still a major ask.

IAAF na podnět evropské federace plánuje zrušit všechny světové rekordy před rokem 2005. Imbecilové, můj názor. Tím nové fanoušky nezískají, jak si myslí, akorát otráví ty stávající.

CHRAMOSTAK: Já bych jí právě moc nevěřil. Už kdysi v New Yorku, což neni rychlá trať, běžela první půlku asi za 1:07, a pak doběhla asi sotva třetí.
Ale podmínky jsou ideální, těžko říct
CHRAMOSTAK --- 11:13:29 23.4.2017
MAKOSHARK: Dost neuveritelny tempo. Bud z toho bude historickej zavod, nebo si to holky na poslednich deseti kilacich kvalitne vyzerou :)

Tiruneš Dibaba už s velkou ztrátou na 2 místě zatím běží na 2:14:)
