Red for ColourBlind & A2+ present Èlg (Alter, Hundebiss, K-RAA-K, BE) Tomutonttu (Kemyalliset Ystavat, Alter, Dekorder, Ultra Eczema, FI)
aurent Gérard, aka Èlg, a french musician based in Brussels, draws for more than ten years the sonic equivalent of concentric spirales and labyrinths made of intestines and thujas. Between 2004 and 2007 his work has been published on many micro-labels via cd-r’s and tapes format. In 2008, the debut album “Tout Ploie” has been released on the belgian label Kraak and reissued on the US label SS Records. In parallel of this songs experimentations ,he putted together voices and lost sounds in four dimensions french-speaking collages, the result is a mouvement taking inspiration as much in sound poetry than stand-up comedy or mescalin mix diary (“Capitaine Présent episode 5”, 2009, Nashazphone). In 2009 he met Ghédalia Tazartès and Jo T. They co-founded the band “Reines d’Angleterre” characterized by living gargoyles singings and improvised electro-acoustic water cascades and toured woldwide for two years. Their two albums has been released by the UK label Bo’ Weavil recordings. Interrested in the idea of injecting psychedelic spirals in industrial transes, Jo and Èlg founded the duet Opéra Mort at the same time (“dirty and futuristic” said Metamkine). The UK label Alter has released their last LP “Dédales”. In his last two albums (“Mil Pluton”, 2012, Alter / Hundebiss Records and “La Chimie”, 2013 SDZ Records) Èlg has gathered, in a same hypnotic line, esperanto pocket-opera, rainbow swamps, bubbled electronic and cosmic pop.
Tomutonttu is a creature who looks after all the dust. Jan Anderzen is a Tampere based artist who rearranges images and sounds and makes the music of Tomutonttu audible. Read streams, mutilated voices, groovy animal noises and records other people have made are some of the ingredients Anderzen uses to mold his ecstatic music. Someone described it like this: a confusing close-up of music, a microcosmos of strange sound events and dirt flying around in stereo space, interacting with a logic all of their own. Jan Anderzen is also the leader of the band Kemialliset Ystävät and one of the most recognized Finnish experimental music makers. He’s actively performing around the world and his discography is a labyrinth reflecting the nature of his art.
